Apple used Presidents Day to push out a batch of software updates for iOS, tvOS, watchOS and macOS.

Of these, the most significant is iOS 11.2.6, which fixes a big that allowed a character in the Telugu language to crash certain apps, including Messages and other messaging apps.

The bug was discovered late this week. It allows a text message containing a single character in the Indian language character set of Telegu to crash iPhones, as well as blocking access to the Messages, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Outlook for iOS and Gmail iOS apps.

The latest iOS update solves this, along with a problem which caused certain third-party apps to fail when connecting to external accessories.

The new version of iOS is available as an over-the-air update. To download iOS 11.2.6 to your iPhone or iPad, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update.

And the rest of the pack

Apple additionally released an update to macOS 10.13.3 which acts as a supplementary fix for the Telgulu bug, watchOS 4.2.3 with some minor bug fixes, and tvOS 11.2.6 which also focuses on performance issues.
