It’s easy to forget the value of doing regular iOS backups. That is, until your iPhone or iPad crashes and jogs your memory. For the less diligent among us, automatic wireless iOS backups can prove priceless.

That’s just what the new Air Backup feature in AnyTrans, a Mac/Windows app for managing iOS devices, is all about. Air Backup lets you schedule wireless backups of your iPhones, iPads and iPods, connecting the devices to your computer over your home Wi-Fi network.

AnyTrans backs up most kinds of iOS data, and fast. It handles iMessages, photos, apps (and their related files), and several data types that iTunes doesn’t offer options for. Your AnyTrans iPhone backups can be previewed and exported, too, to make sure the right data gets saved to the right place for all your devices.

Air Backup: A wireless backstop for iOS backups

The Air Backup feature ties these abilities to a smart scheduling tool. It’s a simple matter to automatically back up your iPhone via Wi-Fi on a custom schedule. Depending on your needs, you might want to set it for monthly, weekly, daily or something else entirely.

If you use iOS devices for business, for example, a daily backup might be ideal. But if you’re a casual user, monthly backups should suffice.

Whatever your backup tempo, the point here is keeping things fuss-free and painless. Since AnyTrans carries out the backups over Wi-Fi, they can automatically run whenever your computer and iOS devices come within range.

There’s no backup storage limit, with customizable backup paths so you can choose the drive where your data winds up. A smart incremental backup algorithm means that each new backup takes up less space than the last.

Additionally, since the cloud isn’t involved in the process, AnyTrans secures your data using SSL encryption as it travels over your Wi-Fi network. You also get the option to add an extra layer of AES-256 encryption.

AnyTrans: An all-in-one iOS management app

Of course, AnyTrans is more than just the Air Backup feature. The all-in-one iDevice management software comes packed with other tools. You can effortlessly manage iOS backups, iCloud content, and music and video files. There’s even a flexible tool for migrating data from your old iPhone to a new one. (For switchers, there’s a tool for moving your data from Android for iOS.)

AnyTrans offers customizable options that iTunes and iCloud just don’t when it comes to backing up and managing your iOS devices. You also can automatically convert HEIC photos to JPG format, and convert Live Photos to GIF, MP4 and M4V format.

Click here to take AnyTrans for a free test spin, or get a full license starting at $39.99.
