Discover is now allowing Apple Pay customers to use their Cashback Bonus on purchases.

You simply continue paying for goods in exactly the same way using your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. Then it takes just two taps to redeem your bonus.

Discover gives customers 5 percent cash back on eligible purchases in categories that change throughout the year. You can earn money back on gas, meals out, and other items — then put it towards other purchases. Until now, you could only claim your Cashback Bonus online.

That’s no longer the case. Your Cashback Bonus can now be redeemed against Apple Pay purchases, and all it takes is two quick taps.

“Cashback Bonus redemption through Apple Pay can happen in just two touches for Discover cardmembers,” said Szabolcs Paldy, vice president of e-business for Discover. “We are committed to providing simple and valuable solutions to our customers wherever and whenever they need them.”

“Customer experience hinges on embracing mobile-first technologies like Apple Pay, and this new ability will make Cashback Bonus redemption even easier and more convenient for our cardmembers.”

To use the feature, simply make a payment using Apple Pay and your Discover card. In the Wallet app, select “Tap for Details” alongside your transaction, then tap “Redeem.” You’ll need to have the Discover Mobile app installed, and a rewards balance higher than the purchase amount.

T-Mobile customers will now be able to use the feature unless they are connected to a Wi-Fi network, Discover says.
