If you suffer from dock or dongle despair, one company has an elegant solution for MacBooks that only feature USB-C ports.

The DockCase is a leather case with a built-in aluminum alloy dock with nine ports, including Ethernet, HDMI, SD and MicroSD card readers, and three for USB 3.0.

USB-C is the emerging tech industry standard for transmitting power and transferring large amounts of data at higher speeds. It also offers a single connection for everything with a bi-directional cord.

Apple’s first machine with USB-C only was the 12-inch MacBook introduced in 2015. It has since added a 13.3- and 15-inch MacBook Pro. Once Apple and companies that manufacture Windows machines began implementing USB-C, accessory companies have been cranking out a variety of multi-port adaptors for users to plug in their peripheral devices.

The product has attracted with more than 1,600 backers on Kickstarter with three days left in the campaign. A case for the 12-inch MacBook, which is equipped with just a single USB-C port, can be pre-ordered for $75. MacBook Pro users can get a case for either size for $89.

A number of tech sites and YouTube channels, including Unbox Therapy, have reviewed and praised the prototype model of the DockCase. Shipping could begin as early as November.

DockCase connects to USB-C MacBooks with a provided C cable that is flat and flexible. It is made with a premium leather used with car interiors that comes in burgundy, black, umber, and coffee brown.
