If you’ve decided to choose Google Play Music over Apple Music, you’ll be pleased to know the service is now compatible with CarPlay. Simply update to the latest version of the app on your iPhone and you’re good to go.

It’s not difficult to see why some might prefer Play Music. Not only does Google allow you to upload 50,000 of your own tracks for streaming to any device, but its subscription fee also includes access to YouTube Red, which lets you enjoy your favorite videos ad-free.

It’s also the preferred choice for some former Android users who switched platforms, and those who simply prefer Google services. And now Play Music is on CarPlay, you don’t have to miss out when you’re behind the wheel.

The new app is organized into four categories to make finding and controlling your music easy.

Home is where you’ll find recommendations; Recents is where you’ll find tracks you’ve listened to recently; Music Library includes your whole catalog; and Stations provides access to playlists that are based on things like genre and activity.

To get starter, simply update to the latest version of Play Music on your iPhone and it will appear in CarPlay the next time you go for a drive. To move the app to your Home screen, open Settings on your iPhone, tap General and then CarPlay, then rearrange the icons.
