Honda has confirmed that it will make CarPlay available as standard on all models of the 2018 Accord 2.0T.

Apple’s platform, which lets you use Siri and your favorite iOS apps behind the wheel, will be optional on 1.5T and Hybrid models.

Honda already offers CarPlay on 2016 and 2017 models of the Accord, but you must pay for the upgrade. With its new 2018 model, you’ll get it as standard (alongside Android Auto) if you choose a variant of the 2.0T.

You’ll be able to get the same technology on the 1.5T and Hybrid models of the 2018 Accord, but it’s an optional upgrade that you’ll have to pay for.

If you get CarPlay, Honda will provide you with an 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen to use it on. It will offer physical volume and tuning knobs, as well as Honda’s own entertainment interface with “smartphone-like” features, including homescreen shortcuts and app tiles.

Pricing for the 2018 Accord isn’t available yet, but we expect to hear more from Honda soon.
