Echo isn’t just one of the first smart speakers; it’s also one of the very best. Powered by Alexa, it’s more accurate and more intelligent than anything else on the market, and compatible with an ever-growing list of popular third-party services.

Echo can stream from the likes of Spotify Premium and Google Play. It can fetch information from and add appointments to your iCloud calendar. It can control other smart devices like Philips Hue lights and Belkin Wemo switches. It can order pizza from Domino’s.

And just like any other virtual assistant, Echo can answer your questions, remind you to pick up milk and bananas, and book a table at your favorite restaurant. It’s incredibly impressive — and for today only, it’s cheaper than ever.

Amazon has slashed $50 off Echo’s price tag for customers in the United States, reducing it to just $129.99. You can also save $10 on a two-year Echo Protection Plan, or $30 on a three-year plan, from SquareTrade.

This is a one-day deal, so you’ll have to act quickly to take advantage of it. On Tuesday, Echo’s price tag will return to the usual $179.99.
