iPhone 7’s improved iSight camera has a wider f/1.8 aperture lens that lets in more light. Coupled with optical image stabilization, it’s better than ever for shooting in darker environments — as Apple demonstrates in its new iPhone 7 ad titled “One Night.”

Part of the “Shot on iPhone” campaign, One Night showcases a whole bunch of beautiful photos and videos shot on iPhone 7 in low light conditions. 16 photographers from 15 cities in 6 continents helped make the ad possible, Apple says.

The iPhone has always been a great smartphone for photographers, but the improvements Apple made for iPhone 7 make it by far the best yet. Not only does it have a brighter lens, but it supports the DCI-P3 wider color gamut for more vibrant images.

When tested by the camera experts at DxOMark, the iPhone 7 achieved a score of 86, which is more than any other iPhone. “With very few weaknesses, the iPhone 7 secures a podium position with one of the top three scores among all the mobile phone cameras we have tested,” they said.

There’s still room for improvement, though. DxO found that although low-light performance is much better with iPhone 7, it still has a tendency to produce a lot of noise in darker environments — not that you’d notice this in the One Night ad.
