JBL has become the first accessory maker to announce a duo of Lightning-compatible speaker docks for Apple’s latest iOS devices. Priced at $99.95 and $199.95, the OnBeat Micro and the OnBeat Venue Lightning are both available to pre-order today.

The OnBeat Micro, the more affordable of the two devices, is designed to be a portable speaker dock you won’t mind traveling with. It’ll offer up to five hours of audio playback before its batteries die out, JBL promises, or you can plug it into the wall for non-stop power.

The OnBeat Micro’s built-in USB port means you can also use it with other devices — not just those that have a Lightning connector. It has two full-range transducers built-in, and weights just 0.8 pounds.

The OnBeat Venue Lightning is designed to turn your iPhone 5 or iPad mini into “an entertainment powerhouse,” apparently. In addition to its built-in Lightning connector, it boasts Bluetooth connectivity, with HARMAN TrueStream audio technology, which promises to ensure high-quality wireless audio streaming.

The OnBeat Venue Lightning also packs 30 watts of amplification, and like its smaller brother, has two full-range transducers. This one’s designed to stay in your home.

Both of JBL’s new speaker docks can be pre-ordered today via the company’s website, but it hasn’t yet announced when they’ll begin shipping.
