Pull my finger: Some joker made a fart app for MacBook Pro’s new Touch Bar

Apple’s magical new MacBook Pro hasn’t even shipped yet, but that hasn’t stopped one developer from creating the first Touch Bar fart app.

iOS developer Hung Truong churned out his new app, TouchFart, just hours after Apple released a new build of Xcode needed to make apps that support the new Touch Bar. Even though he hasn’t gotten to test it in a real-world scenario, you can watch TouchFart in action in a simulator.

Apple boasts a long history of purging flatulence-oriented software. “We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store,” Apple wrote in its App Store Review Guidelines in 2010. “We don’t need any more Fart apps.”

Nevertheless, devs with a sense of humor — and a nose for squeezing out an app that can rake in quick cash — typically pounce on every new Apple device. Cupertino banned fart apps from the Apple Watch shortly after the wearable’s release last year.

Still, let’s face it: Nothing says, “I just wasted $2,000 on a new MacBook Pro” like a digital whoopee cushion.

You can download Truong’s app directly from GitHub and try it out once your new MacBook Pro arrives. TouchFart features three fart sounds and two emoji — poop and blowing wind — so you can quickly blast digital shit with just a tap.
