Apple may have given up on the iPhone 5c pretty quickly, but it looks like the iPhone SE could be a long-term fixture in its lineup. That’s if this sketchy packaging for an “iPhone 6 SE” is to be believed.
Sent into TechTastic, the pictures are believed to be from China, and they show what looks like an iPhone 6 box with an added “SE” moniker. The pictures also reveal a pamphlet for the device, and some of its specifications.

Given how pleased Apple appears to be with the success of the iPhone SE, and its focus on building up its iPhone business in emerging markets where more affordable devices are more successful, it makes sense that it would be planning a successor.
But don’t get too excited by these pictures just yet, because they’re almost certainly not genuine. It isn’t difficult for someone with basic Photoshop skills to add the “SE” label to an iPhone 6 box, while the redactions on the back make us incredibly suspicious.
If you look closely, you will also notice that there is no space between “iPhone” and “6” in the label on the back of the packaging — and that’s not a typo Apple would make.
