It’s only been 8 months since Pebble launched its latest smartwatch, Pebble Time Round, but the company now has something else “up its sleeve.” All will be revealed on its website tomorrow, May 24, at 10 a.m. ET.
Pebble popularized the smartwatch with its original wearable, which was an incredible success on Kickstarter back in 2012, raising almost $10.3 million raised from nearly 69,000 backers to become the most funded project in the site’s history.
Pebble has lost some of its momentum in recent years with stronger competition from smarter wearables — like Apple Watch and Android Wear devices. However, the company certainly isn’t going down without a fight.
Its first new product of 2016 will be announced for the first time tomorrow. Pebble doesn’t give away much in its email to fans, or in its announcements on social media. However, it does use the tagline “Everything’s better with friends.”
That suggests Pebble may be planning to unveil some new social features for its existing devices as opposed to new hardware, but we’ll have to wait and see what the announcement brings. We haven’t heard any whispers surrounding Pebble’s plans lately.
You’ll be able to catch Pebble’s announcement on pebble.com at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT tomorrow.
