Confiscating your kids’ mobile phones not enough of a punishment? Well, if you’re like one Southern mom there’s always the option of shooting up their iPhone with a shotgun to really make your point!

“I hereby denounce the effects that social media have on my children,” the woman says at the beginning of a video, which was uploaded to YouTube over the weekend.

The ensuing iPhone execution would bring tears to the eyes of poor Jony Ive.

The question of how much kids should be allowed to use devices like smartphones and tablets has raged on for quite some time now. In a recent study by the University of Michigan, parents with “difficult” children were found to be far more likely to pacify them by handing over a mobile device.

Steve Jobs, meanwhile, was careful about not letting his kids use iOS devices when they shouldn’t be. With that said, I can’t image Jobs shooting up a smartphone if he found his kid using one during family time — unless it was an Android handset, that is!

Then I could picture him using this gorgeous double-barreled shotgun, designed by Jony Ive BFF and Apple designer Marc Newson, to do the deed.

Update: Unfortunately it appears that the video has been pulled.
