Starz is finally getting into the streaming business.

The premium cable network revealed today that it is launching a standalone streaming service on iOS, Apple TV, and other platforms today. The Starz digital service gives you yet another monthly subscription to pay for, but the company has one killer feature it hopes will put it above the competition.

To take on HBO, Netflix, Showtime, Amazon, Hulu and pretty much every other stream video digital service, Starz plans to offer unlimited downloads so you can binge on episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead even when you don’t have internet.

If you’re already paying for Starz as part of your cable package, you can get free access to the app, but there’s no live streaming. Subscriptions to Starz come in at $8.99 per month and get you unlimited access to more than 2,400 movies and TV shows.

Starz CEO Chris Albrecht says the move will allow the company to make its content available to more than 20 million broadband-only homes in the U.S. that have moved on from cable packages. No word on when Starz will be available outside the country.

The Starz app can be downloaded now on iOS, Apple TV, and Google Play. To promote the launch, Starz will make the first episode of its hit series Outlander available for streaming on April 7th, even though the official premiere for season two isn’t slated until April 9th.
