Are you a budding photographer, who owns (or has access to) an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch? If so, you may be interested in entering this year’s IPPAwards, a.k.a. The iPhone Photography Awards.

Entrants are competing for the prestigious IPPA Photographer of the Year Award title, along with a assortment of other prizes.

There’s a wide range of categories to choose from — including Animals, Abstract, Architecture, Children, Flowers, Food, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, News/Events, Panorama, People, Portrait, Seasons, Still Life, Sunset, Travel, Trees, and Others.

Entry fees for the contest range from $3.50 for a single image up to 25 images for $57.50. There’s no limit to the number of entries that can be made, but IPPA suggests that people only submit their best efforts rather than flooding the contest with every picture they’ve ever taken.

You can get more details here. The deadline for the contest is March 31, 2016. In the meantime, if you’re looking for inspiration you can check out last year’s winners.

With a growing number of people taking photos with their iOS devices every day, Apple has shown an increasing emphasis on this aspect of its products. Last year it launched the “Shot on iPhone 6” ad campaign, which showed off some of the best iOS photography taken by regular users. This year it updated the ad series with a new batch of spectacular crowdsourced billboard pictures.

If you’ve ever dreamed about having your work displayed in an Apple ad, the IPPAwards aren’t a bad place to start!
