AmpMe, the magical app that syncs multiple phones together to create one giant speaker, is getting a much needed update today that lets you take the party anywhere, even if you don’t have internet.

The Montreal-based startup revealed today that it has added a new ‘Offline Mode’ that will let users sync an unlimited number of phones together regardless of whether or not you have a data connection. And to make it easier to get the party started, the app has add a new ‘Auto-Join’ mode that makes it easier than ever to get the music listening party started.

The update app works on both Android and iOS and plays any song stored on your device, allowing your personal music library to play perfectly in sync on your friend’s smartphone as well. To join in on the party, other users simply have to join the Wi-Fi network created by the host AmpMe device, then open the app and your speaker will start blasting the tunes too.

“We want AmpMe to be for everyone, not just those lucky enough to have a fast or unlimited data Internet connection,” said AmpMe CEO Martin-Luc Archambault. “Nothing shuts down a party faster than waiting for the music to start, having it out of sync, or losing it all together because of a weak signal. Offline Mode makes it possible for everyone to quickly and easily start a party using their own music on AmpMe whether you’re on a beach, on a limited data plan or living off the grid.”

To ensure that phones are perfectly in sync, AmpMe added a new Predictive Sync feature that predicts the music offset of your device, and then starts at the perfect spot. You can grab the new update now on the App Store and Google Play.
