You can already pick up the iPad Pro at some Apple Stores

Everything we’d previously heard (including Apple’s own official statement on the matter) suggested that the iPad Pro would be available for ordering today, but that customers would only be able to physically get their hands on one later this week.

Well, taking a page out of the “under promise, over deliver” playbook, it turns out that a number of Apple Stores are offering in-store pickups for its new super-sized tablet — starting today!

The best bet for picking up an iPad Pro is to purchase the device online, where you can “Check Availability” to see where the iPad Pro is stocked close to your home. It will, however, also be available to non-reservers in limited quantities — at least according to an Apple Store employee I spoke with who suggested they were expecting additional stock later today.

Since this was in the U.K. (where I live), it suggests that this extends beyond the U.S., and possibly to all 40+ countries in Apple’s first wave of countries to receive the device.

Interestingly, I was also advised that accessories may be available in store at around the same time. Online, the Apple Pencil stylus and Smart Keyboard ($99 and $169 respectively) are showing 1-2 week delivery times. While that may turn out to be the earliest anyone can get an iPad Pro accessory, it’s worth calling your local Apple Store just on the off chance they receive some early stock.
