Don’t let the bottle in the name fool you. The boomBOTTLE+ by SCOSCHE Industries is no place for a beverage. But your ears will quickly realize it is filled with sound.

The boomBOTTLE, rolled out today on the SCOSCHE website, is a portable Bluetooth speaker that has the height and girth of the common water bottle, thus fitting in a drink holder on a bike, boat or camping chair.

The speaker will fit in a bike's water bottle cage and be able to withstand water and mud splash.

The speaker provides 360 degrees of sound delivered with 55 mm drivers, two passive radiators and a large subwoofer for bass. SCOSCHE has been around for 35 years, starting with car audio so it knows how to deliver sound.

At $180, the boomBOTTLE+ is on the higher end of the price scale for portable Bluetooth speakers, but there are some on Amazon that cross over the $200 mark. It is similar in price to the lower end Beats Pill speaker, which start at $159 but goes as high as $270 (gold edition).

SCHOSHE is betting people will be wooed by the sound quality but also the speaker’s durable exterior. It is water, dust and apparently mud-proof as demonstrated by a publicity photo of a mountain biker rinsing his speaker off in a stream. The speaker contains a 6000mAH rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that the company promises will deliver up to 15 hours of sound.

SCOSCHE added other touches, like an outdoor/indoor EQ function, a wall charger for faster charges and colors combinations black/gold, black/gray and blue/green.
