Sony’s second-generation SmartBand 2 is here, and it’s a big improvement over its predecessor. The wearable’s new design packs an intelligent heart rate monitor that constantly measures your excitement and stress levels throughout the day.

“Your heart rate, movements, sleep, even your moments of calm and excitement” are all recorded by the SmartBand 2, allowing you to see what gets your pulse racing, and when you’re most relaxed. All of the data is available inside Sony’s Lifelog app, which is available on Android and iOS.

The SmartBand 2 doesn’t have a display, but it does boast built-in LED lights and a vibration motor that will alert you when you get incoming calls, text messages, and emails. It can also control your music, and has a nifty smart alarm feature that monitors your sleep patterns and wakes you up at an optimal time.

NFC and Bluetooth connectivity are baked in, alongside a 54mAh battery that promises up to five days of use in between charges. The SmartBand 2 is IP68 rated for water-resistance, and its core is removable, allowing you to pull it out and put it into other straps of different colors.

The SmartBand 2 can be connected to devices running Android or iOS, and it goes on sale next month priced at $132.
