According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, his team is on top of the recent removal of Home Sharing from the iOS 8.4 update.
Cue tweeted that we can expect the feature, which lets you share music across Home Sharing-enabled Apple devices on the same network, will return in iOS 9.
@inklake We are working to have Home Sharing in iOS 9.

Several users took to the Apple discussion forum last week to bemoan the loss of a key feature of many of their home media networks.
Apple’s been tight-lipped about why the feature was removed from iOS, but it’s most likely something to do with rights issues in regards to Apple Music artists and recording industry big wigs.
We’re sure happy to hear that Apple is on this one, and look forward to listening to songs from our Macs at home on our iOS devices in other parts of that very same home.
Until then, of course, you can use third-party solutions like Air Playit, Plex or Subsonic to reproduce the audio streaming functionality of Home Sharing, at least to iOS devices. Apple TV and other Macs can still use the Home Sharing features.
The folks on the Apple Discussions boards should be happy. User ddrucker surely is:
@cue @inklake Thanks goodness Home Sharing is coming back – soon, I hope! It's a key feature for many of us with large libraries.
