Say Hello To ePad

Forget the iPad, kids, just forget it forever. You don’t need one anymore. Because the guys at E4 have created… ePad. It’s more than amazing. It’s amazinger.

E4, for those of you who don’t know, is a UK digital TV channel aimed at 15-35 year olds. It is home to a lot of American and British comedy shows, dramas and sitcoms, but also has a reputation for unsual, quirky and funny channel idents. Of which this is the latest example.

The machine they’ve chosen for their gag is actually a Compaq Portable III, dating from 1987. According to Old Computers, it boasted a 12MHz Intel 80286 processor, as much as 2MB (!) of RAM, a 40MB hard disk, and a 1200 baud modem. Yes folks: this was 1987’s MacBook.
