Losing the TV remote may soon become a thing of the past, now that it’s going to be permanently strapped to your wrist. DirecTV debuted its Apple Watch app this morning that gives customers the ability to control their DVRs from Apple Watch’s tiny display.

The DirecTV Apple Watch app is part of an update to DirecTV Everywhere for iOS that brought similar functionality to the iPhone. Apple Watch wearers can now play, pause, rewind and fast-forward recorded content on an DVR in the house.

You won’t be able to change the channel of live TV just yet, but you can setup new recordings, also view program titles, navigate the on-screen guide, view channel details, as well as get info about TV shows and movies.

The new app is available for free to all DirecTV customers and requires an iPhone 5 or later.
