Whatever she earns, Grumpy Cat has plenty of reasons to smile. The Internet-famous feline just knows her earning power would dry up if she expressed happiness.

The world’s favorite sourpuss has reportedly earned more than $100 million in two years, according to British tabloid The Daily Express. That’s more than Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman, Matt Damon or Mathew McConaughey.

But Grumpy Cat’s owner, Tabatha Bundesen of Morriston, Arizona, called the report “completely inaccurate.” She declined to clarify the kitty’s earnings, but past reports claimed Grumpy Cat’s earnings were in the “low six figures” as of 2013.

Whatever the actual figure is, there is probably plenty of purring coming from that scowling face.

Born with an underbite and feline dwarfism, the mixed-breed cat named Tardar Sauce has become an undeniable Internet sensation.

A photo posted by her brother on Reddit two years ago, and a YouTube video that has had more than 15 million views, became real meme material that has led to merchandising, books and a Lifetime movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.

Here is the official movie trailer:

“What she’s achieved in such a short time is unimaginable and absolutely mind-blowing,” Bundesen allegedly told The Daily Express. “I was able to quit my job as a waitress within days of her first appearance on social media and the phone simply hasn’t stopped ringing since.”

Grumpy Cat is managed by Ben Lashes, who has made a name for himself as a “meme manager.” Attempts by Cult of Mac to reach him for comment were not successful.
