Ever since it arrived on our computers all the way back in 2000, the makers of The Sims have always been great at providing plenty of expansion packs designs to grow your Sim universe out in a variety of different directions.

That same spirit had carried over to the iOS game The Sims FreePlay, which has just added a “Let’s Eat” update, letting your Sim become a master of the culinary arts.

The freemium download lets you master new recipes with the Cooking Hobby and learn secret time-honored family recipes. Perhaps most excitingly is the addition of a restaurant location, which you are able to run — offering a first-class dining experience, accompanying grand piano soundtrack, and even upstairs bar, which the game developers claim is “perfect for an intimate date.”

A previously released trailer shows off the “Let’s Eat” refresh in all its glory:

While there are definitely a few alterations to make The Sims work for touch screens rather than desktops — and I definitely sympathize with people who would rather skip freemium games altogether on account of their in-app purchase demands — I’ve always been pleasantly surprised by The Sims FreePlay.

If you want to check out this latest addition, you can download the game from the App Store, available for all iOS devices running iOS 4.3 or later.
