ABC News has landed on Apple TV this morning as a stand alone app, but unlike other channels on the set-top box, ABC is giving away all its content for free. Starting today Apple TV customers can watch on-demand content from ABC News along with access to four live stream video sources and a dash of exclusive content.

Along with the added ABC News channel, Apple TV also added new channels for AOL, PBS Kids, and a channel dedicated to to the sport of cricket, called Willow.

AOL’s On channel features news reports from AOL as well as sports and tech features, plus access to AOL’s own fabulous TV shows like Candidly Nicole, City Ballet, and My Ink.

For the toddlers in your house, Apple has added the PBS Kids channel, which boasts popular titles like Curious George, Thomas & Friends and the Cat in the Hat. All the content on PBS Kids is free, but you have to activate the app by linking it to your Facebook, Google+, or PBS account

Cricket has somehow managed to land on Apple TV before the NFL with the new Willow channel, and offers access to live games around the world, replays of top games, as well as wicket highlights, but you’ll have to sign up for Willow’s $14.99 per month subscription to gain full access to content.

The free update is available to all Apple TV customers starting today.
