Asphalt 8: Airborne for iOS has become the first mobile title to adopt Twitch in-game streaming. The feature allows players to beam their gameplay to Twitch viewers all over the world, and all that’s required is an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

To celebrate the update, developer Gameloft is live-streaming the game for 24 hours.

Twitch first announced its new Twitch Mobile SDK less than two weeks ago. It finally gives smartphone and tablet gamers the ability to cast their games online without the help of additional hardware or special software — just like they can on consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Gameloft has acted quickly to make Asphalt 8 the first mobile game to support Twitch streaming. With more than 48 million installs worldwide already, it’s the perfect title to quickly bring the new service to the masses.

“This first-ever mobile game integration with Twitch opens the door for gamers to broadcast and share game play experiences like never before,” Baudouin Corman, VP of publishing for the Americas at Gameloft, said in a press release today.

“As one of our most popular games, Asphalt 8: Airborne made perfect sense to integrate the Twitch mobile SDK.”

In addition to Twitch streaming, the new Asphalt 8 update also brings new cars, new events, and a redesigned user interface. It’s expected to roll out before the end of the month. To celebrate the release, Gameloft is streaming Asphalt 8 live for 24 hours on Twitch TV.
