Realmac Software Makes Clear Free For 24 Hours

Clear for iOS 7 on iPhone

Clear, the popular to-do list management tool for iOS from Realmac Software, is now free for the next 24 hours.

The promotion is designed to give those who purchased the now defunct Clear+ the opportunity to migrate to the original app without having to pay again — but those who have never purchased Clear can take advantage of the offer, too.

Realmac announced last week that Clear+ — the universal app that was launched just last October — was going to get the chop. “Ever since the launch of Clear+, we’ve heard from customers that they are excited to pick up Clear but uncertain which version to buy,” explained company founder Dan Counsell in a post on the company’s blog.

To eliminate this problem, the company has decided to kill Clear+ altogether, and make its original Clear app a universal release. Clear+ will no longer receive new updates — it won’t be getting the big Reminders update that’s coming soon — so users need to migrate their lists from the new app over to the original.

So that no one has to pay again, the original Clear is now free to download from the App Store. It’s pretty much identical as Clear+ — it has the new iOS 7 design and a universal user interface optimized for both iPhone and iPad — and it’ll get future updates as and when they become available.

To migrate your Clear data from Clear+ to the original, simply enable iCloud syncing before you install Clear and all of your lists will appear when you log in. You can then delete Clear+ from your device.

Remember, Clear will be free for the next 24 hours only, so be sure to grab it now before the price goes back up. And again, you don’t have to have purchased Clear+ to get Clear for free — just follow the App Store link below to download it.
