Cult _of_Mac_CES_2014_80x80LAS VEGAS – Dropping your iPhone in a pool of water can be a traumatic experience. Especially if you don’t have AppleCare+. Sure, there are a bunch of home remedy methods you can try to dry it out, but I’ve never had any success shoving my soaked iPhone in a bag of rice. Enter Bheestie, a small plastic bag that claims to remove water from you gadgets faster than any home remedy.

Rather than thrusting your wet iPhone into a hot oven, Bheestie uses a perforated packet of specially engineered Bheestie Beads that you place in a sealable bag with your electronics. Seal up the bag, let it sit for 24-36 hours and let the beads draw the moisture out of your damaged device.

Even if you haven’t plunged your iPhone in water the bag also works well as a daily maintenance device if you’ve had your gear out in the rain and want to ensure nothing gets damaged later. It can’t fix electrical shorts, but Bheestie claims it will dry out your iPhone seven time faster than homegrown methods, and at only $17.95 it’s better than trying to dry your waterlogged iPhone with kitty litter.
