Tweetbot is probably our favorite Twitter client for iOS, especially after Tweetbot 3 gave the app a major makeover for iOS 7.

It’s also one of our favorite Mac Twitter clients, but it tends to hover a bit behind Tweetbot for iPhone when it comes to features. A new update, however, narrows the gap a little bit, introducing a number of useful bug fixes. Don’t expect a major aesthetic overhaul, though.

Available now on the Mac App Store, the most recent 1.4.1 update for Tweetbot includes fixes for unreliable image handling in direct messages, issues pertaining to unread feed items, and more.

Here’s the change log:

– Fixed the issue where you can see “x unread items” but can’t scroll up to see them
– Fixed the issue where direct message images would not load when clicked
– Fixed the issue with some users seeing hangs related to iCloud syncing or playing audio
– Fixed the issue where the main Tweetbot window could move from the secondary to primary monitor after restarting the app

The 1.4.1 update follows a major update a month ago in which Tweetbot gained OS X Mavericks smooth scrolling, quick reply for notifications, and more.

Sadly, if Tweetbot for Mac is going to get the same graphical overhaul that it’s iPhone counterpart has already received, we’ll have to wait for it: Tweetbot for iPad still hasn’t been updated, and the Mac version is probably an even lower priority on Tapbots’ to-do list.

Tweetbot for Mac can be purchased on the Mac App Store for $19.99.
