You Can Now Initiate Screensharing With AppleCare

Got a problem with your Mac that makes you call an AppleCare representative over the phone? You no longer have to use mere words to try to explain what’s wrong. Apple has now updated its support site, allowing users to initiate screen-sharing with the AppleCare rep on the other side of the line.

While always an option, screensharing was previously at the discretion of the AppleCare representative on the other end of the line. Now, users can initiate it themselves, giving the rep control over their Mac to hunt down the problem more quickly.

To initiate screensharing, you will have to download a tiny applet. And, of course, you don’t have to allow screensharing at all.
