Rdio promised us back in September that recommendations were on their way, and you’ll find them now inside the app’s latest iOS update. The release also delivers a redesigned stations player, various user interface improvements, and some bug fixes.

It’s always nice to have recommendations — particularly if you’re like me and you never know what to listen to. Rdio’s are based on the albums you’ve already been listening to, so you might discover new artists similar to those you already enjoy.

It will also present you with stations and playlists that are popular with your friends, or popular in your area. So if you’ve been listening to your neighbors through the walls, and you want to know what that album is that they always have on repeat, Rdio might be able to help.

In addition to recommendations, the latest Rdio update introduces a redesigned stations player. You’ll see album artwork for three tracks — the one you’re listening to and the two that are up next — and you can swipe between them to quickly skip to the next song.

The release also brings “various improvements and minor bug fixes,” and it’s ready to download from the App Store now.
