Clear For iOS Gets Background Refresh, Ensuring Your Lists Are Always Up To Date

Clear and Clear+, the popular list-keeping apps from Realmac Software, have been updated to take advantage of iOS 7’s new background refresh feature. This allows the apps to update even when they’re closed, ensuring your lists are up-to-date and ready for you when you open them up.

This is great news if you use Clear on multiple devices, because it means the updates you make on your Mac or your iPad should automatically appear on your iPhone — even if you don’t have Clear open there. So you’ll no longer have to open Clear and wait while it syncs your data.

This will have an affect on your battery life of course, but it should be very minimal, depending on how often you use Clear and how much you update your lists during the day. If you don’t like the idea of background updating, you can disable it by opening up the Settings app, tapping “General,” then tapping “Background App Refresh” and flicking the toggle.

If you don’t already have it (and you should), Clear for iPhone is priced at $1.99. If you want it on iPad, too, then you can pick up the universal version, Clear+, for $4.99.
