As they are wont to do, J.D. Power Associates has just released its second Wireless Smartphone Satisfaction Study for 2013. Guess what? The iPhone is on top again, the second time since it claimed the title of king of all smartphones in J.D. Power’s previous Wireless Smartphone Satisfaction Study back in May.
There’s an interesting finding in the study, though. It turns out that satisfaction with your iPhone varies wildly depending on what Smartphone carrier you are on. Verizon Wireless customers love their iPhones a lot more than At&T customers, while on Sprint, more customers love their Samsungs than their iPhones.
“It’s very interesting to see that satisfaction performance differs by smartphone brand across Tier 1 carriers,” said Kirk Parsons, senior director of telecommunications services at J.D. Power. “This indicates that carrier services and how these carriers position specific features and services on their devices influence the experience customers have with their smartphone device.”
In addition, different customers on different carriers have different reasons for buying their smartphone. On Sprint, most customers care about features, while on T-Mobile, price is the biggest issue. Interesting stuff.
