Logitech Ultrathin Mouse Works Like A Trackpad

By

mouse is thin

The one thing I’ve never thought about my mouse is that it’s too thick, and yet here comes Logitech, fresh off its success with the Ultrathin Keyboard Cases for the iPad and iPad, making an Ultrathin Touch Mouse for your MacBook Air (or “Ultrabook,” as the gender-neutral marketing parlance has it).

The Ultrathin is as slim as your MacBook, and can run for an hour off a single minute’s charge. It also has the same Easy-Switch tech that is in the Easy Switch K811 keyboard I’m typing these words on, letting you pair with several devices and switch between them without having to re-pair the Bluetooth.

Finally, the top is a touchpad, so you could conceivably leave this on the desk unmoving and use it as a trackpad.

Will I be spending the $70 Logitech wants for this? Nah. I have trackpads for everything these days. A mouse seems old-fashioned to me now, and as most of my interaction with a computer is done via the keyboard, it also seems superfluous. If I was in the mouse market, though, I’d be taking a look. The best mice I’ve used have all been from Logitech.
