Use Siri To Easily Find And Watch Movie Trailers On Your iPhone, iPad [iOS Tips]

Siri Movie Trailers iPad

There’s a special delight to be had in watching upcoming movie trailers. Apple even has its own website and app dedicated to them. Watching a trailer is also a great way to find out if you want to even bother going to see a movie.

So, if you’re hanging out, looking for something to do on your iPhone or iPad, or you want to decide what movie to watch this evening, maybe you just want to ask Siri for help.

It’s pretty easy to ask her to show you a movie trailer. Here’s how.

Click and hold on the Home button on your iOS device of choice, and say “Show me a movie trailer for Elysium,” or whatever movie you’re looking for. If the movie you name has more than one release with the same name, Siri will ask you to choose one of them. Tap on your choice, and Siri will show you a quick movie poster preview, and then launch the video directly.

When you’re done watching the trailer, hit the blue Done button in the upper left, and you’ll go back to the movie poster preview, as in the screenshot above. Now you can quickly watch as many trailers as you like, and then ask Siri to grab you a couple of tickets to that same movie, if it’s currently in theaters.

I’m still excited to check out Elysium, even if it’s not doing so well at the box office. Siri didn’t judge, though; she just played the trailer for me and let me be the judge. Were I interested in reviews of the movie, though, I could ask, “Find me movie reviews for Elysium.” Siri would then let me know that the movie is currently showing a 67% rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Sigh.
