Quora is a motherlode of information and often sees top experts answer thoughtful questions posed by its users. Every once in a while, a superstar will step into answer—as Ashton Kutcher himself did, when someone asked “How did Ashton Kutcher prepare for his role as Steve Jobs in the new movie Jobs?”
It’s fascinating to read how Kutcher poured himself into the persona of Steve Jobs; how he ate the same food Steve enjoyed (grapes, carrot juice and popcorn) and scrutinized Steve’s other perks:
“I noticed how he used his hands to talk and how he counted with his fingers (pinky finger first), how he used the words ‘aaaaand’ and ‘noooow’ to think about what he was going to say next,” Kutcher writes in his answer.
But probably the biggest reveal of the post is how Kutcher feels about the man he portrays in his upcoming movie. It might look like pandering to the cynical, but Kutcher seems hold a good deal of real admiration for Steve.
But in the end one of the greatest tells of the man were his creations. They were elegant, intelligent, thoughtful, precise, artistic, bold, visionary, complicated, efficient, fun, entertaining, powerful, imperfect, and beautiful on the inside and out…. Just like Steve.
