Apple Investor Call Q3

According to its investor’s page, Apple, Inc. will conference call with investors on July 23, 2013, discussing its financial performance for the fiscal third quarter of 2013, which ended June 30.

The call will be live streamed on Apple’s web page for anyone to listen in, and should cover revenue and sales figures. We can expect to hear from Tim Cook, CEO, and probably Peter Oppenheimer, CFO of Apple, both explaining the current performance as well as making some sort of financial forecast for the coming quarter, Q4 2013.

Apple’s second quarter was better than Wall Street analysts’ expectations, with a reported 43.6 billion in sales, mostly attributable to solid iPhone and iPad sales. Apple claimed sales of 37.4 million iPhones during that quarter, which ended in March of 2013, which was way above the expected 34 million units many analysts predicted.

Analyst Peter Misek tells CNET, however, that Apple has ordered fewer iPhones in the past quarter, cutting orders from 40 to 45 million of Q2 to a 25 to 30 million orders this past quarter. Misek also says that Apple will order even fewer iPhones in the fourth quarter.

For it’s own part, Apple mentioned in the last round of financial chats that it expects Q3 sales to come in somewhere between $33.5 and $35.5 billion. Not too shabby, really.

The conference call is set for 2 pm on the 23rd of this month, with a stream available on the investor page. We’ll keep an eye an ear on it ourselves, and let you know how it turns out, of course.
