After Oklahoma City was ravaged by a tornado yesterday where 91 souls lost their lives, AT&T has announced that it will be waving all voice, data, and text overage charges for victims of the tornado.

The tornado system was reported to be one mile wide as it ripped through parts of Oklahoma City Monday afternoon as it left a colossal amount of devastation in its wake.

AT&T’s state president for Oklahoma, Bryan Gonterman, released the following statement regarding the tornado:

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tornado that hit the Oklahoma City area Monday. We are coordinating with local authorities and bringing in additional resources.

Because of the high volume of calls of customers trying to get in touch with loved ones who were in the path of the storm, Gonterman recommends reaching friends and family via text messaging rather than voice calls. AT&T customer’s can contribute a $10 donation to the Oklahoma relief effort by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999.
