Apple’s Spaceship Designers Are Going To Revamp Apple Stores Now Too

Apple’s new spaceship headquarters look pretty amazing. Even though the mothership is still a year behind schedule, Apple loves the design of it so much, that they want the architectural firm who created the mothership to redesign some Apple Stores too.

Foster + Partners architecture firm has just signed a deal with Apple to work on new designs for some of its retail stores.

Foster + Partners relationship with Apple started with the design of the new spaceship headquarters that are currently under construction. Some of the most popular Apple Stores in the world (including Fifth Ave and Regent Street) were designed by Foster + Partners’ biggest rival, 8 Inc.

Details regarding which stores Foster + Partners would be working on weren’t given, but let’s hope the new projects go smoother than the spaceship campus. The original budget for Apple’s spaceship campus has ballooned from $3 billion to nearly $5 billion since it was unveiled in 2011. The project was supposed to be completed by the end of 2015, but current estimates have pushed it back to 2016.
