How To Jailbreak Your iOS 6 Device With Evasi0n The Right Way [Jailbreak]

Evasi0n Jailbreak iPhone 5

The Evasi0n jailbreak has been released for all devices capable of running iOS 6, including the iPhone 5 and iPad mini. You can download the free Evasion tool for Mac, Windows, or Linux. The jailbreaking process takes all of five minutes in most cases, and once completed, you have full access to Cydia.

Ready to get your jailbreak on? Here’s how to jailbreak your iOS 6 device with Evasi0n the right way:

Before you begin: Make sure you read our guide on how to prepare for this jailbreak. Once you’ve followed the steps, you’re good to proceed.

Evasi0n is an untethered jailbreak for all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini models running iOS 6.0 through 6.1. (The third-gen Apple TV is the only device not supported.) The “untethered” aspect means that you do not need to re-jailbreak every time you reboot your iOS device.

The Evasi0n jailbreak tool will run on OS X, Windows, and Linux.

Here are some important notes from Evasi0n’s release notes:

– Those who use backup passwords in iTunes must disable them for now. After doing so, iTunes makes a brand new backup. Please wait for that backup to complete before proceeding! Feel free to re-enable your backup password after jailbreaking.

– Please disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before using evasi0n. It can cause issues.

– Avoid all iOS and iTunes related tasks until evasi0n is complete. Why not just enjoy a brief break from the computer to stretch your legs?

– If the process gets stuck somewhere, it’s safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Power and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process.

How To Jailbreak

Easy as pie.

Step 1: Once you’d downloaded the Evasi0n tool, drag it onto your desktop. Open it and plug in the iOS device you wish to jailbreak.

Step 2: Evasi0n will recognize your device, and then it’s safe to click the “Jailbreak” button. Sit back and relax while Evasi0n does its thing.

Step 3: The tool will do its magic, and along the way it will ask you to unlock your device and tap a new “Jailbreak” icon that has been miraculously added to your Home screen.

Step 4: Let Evasi0n install the rest of the jailbreak, and your device will reboot. Cydia should now be sitting there next to your other app icons. This is really one of easiest jailbreaks ever.

So, if I do this jailbreak and then decide I need to revert to normal (work phone), is the accepted routine still: backup, restore, then restore from backup?

Anybody else getting the error HTTP/ 1.1 bad gateway and internal server error? I can’t download anything from Cydia

i finally got to update everything.. still having issues downloading. I’m thinking its due to server over load… give it a couple hours and maybe a couple days. should be smooth sailing then.

Hello. I am on iOS 5.0 jailbreak version. I was wondering what is the best way forward to get 6.1 jailbreak on my phone? Should I first upgrade to 6.1 over the air (ofcourse would loose all tweaks) and then do the jailbreak, or is there a better option to do this? Thank You!!

And to add to this, when the next version of iOS is released, and I don’t care about losing the JB, will I be able to make an iTunes backup with JB iOS 6.1, then restore to the new version of iOS, and finally restore Apps/Data from the iOS 6.1 backup?

i’m running this as of the first day, and i am loving it. there is very little that i modified, a testament to iphone’s greatness, but the stuff i did change make it a superb phone. has been stable for now, and i think the performance is a bit snappier :)

Anyone know how to get Visual Voicemail working again after JB? Also, I was unable to restore from backup after the JB – iTunes said the backup was corrupted.
