As jailbreakers wait with eager expectation for an untethered jailbreak that works on iOS 6 and the iPhone 5, Cydia developers are still hard at work. One of the community’s most popular hackers, Grant “chpwn” Paul, has updated many of his popular tweaks. His most famous tweaks, Infinidock, Infiniboard, and Infinifolders, have all been completely rebuilt and made compatible with iOS 6. Collectively they now form Infiniapps 2.0.

Some of Paul’s other iOS tweaks have also received minor updates, like VoiceActivator and Zephyr.

On his personal blog, Paul noted that “all three [Infiniapps] have still been based on the same code I wrote in one week during January 2010. Because of that, adding new features and supporting newer iOS releases was growing more difficult with every update. It was time for a clean slate.”

And so today I’m releasing new versions of all of the Infiniapps, rebuilt from the ground up for iOS 5 and iOS 6. But while the core is brand new, all of your favorite features, settings, and purchases are still there, and everything should seamlessly carry over into the new versions. I also added a few new features — scrollbars and bouncing settings are now an option in Infinidock, for example — and new features should be much easier to add in the future.

Stability was another big focus for this update. Now the Infiniapps tweaks are truly unlimited; there is no limit to the amount of icons that can be put in the dock, Home screen, or an iOS folder.

For many jailbreakers, the Infiniapps tweaks are some of the first packages that get installed from Cydia, the jailbreak alternative to the App Store.

Still waiting on that iPhone 5 jailbreak. It’ll be ready eventually.
