The season is fast approaching for tradeshows, and with it the need for desperate booth-builders to find newer and more gimmicky ways to hawk their wares. I predict that the iPad mini will be the hot ticket this year (or rather, early next year), and New PC Gadgets seems to agree, for it has just launched an acrylic security stand for the little tablet.

The stand is a lot like the ones used by Apple to turn its full-sized iPads into in-store POS displays. The clear plastic block has two pieces to lock the iPad inside and cover up its home button to stop prospective customers form checking their Facebook.

You can either screw it down or use adhesive pads, and there are cut-outs for charging cables and headphones.

I reckon these are going to fly off the shelves (New PC Gadgets’ shelves. Not your shelves – this case is designed to prevent that sort of thing). The mini is not only cuter, but it’s cheaper, smaller, and faster to charge than its big brother, all of which are boons for the weary tradeshow exhibitor.
