Stainless Games brought the 1997 classic that is Carmageddon to the App Store last week, but its launch was marred by a nasty save game bug that was capable of wiping all the progress you had made in the game.

Thankfully, the company has now issued an update that fixes the problem.

The fix is available to download immediately from the App Store, and we recommend you do it straight away — especially if you’ve spent plenty of time playing the game already. Once installed, it should prevent the game from losing all your progress at random.

It’s thought the initial problem was related to a Game Center login issue, and the only way to avoid it was to follow a lengthy workaround that involved disabling Game Center syncing before you loaded up the game. After installing today’s update, however, it’s something you shouldn’t need to worry about again.
