Yelp just delivered the latest version of its iOS app to the App Store, and the company promises it’s “literally filled to the brim with awesomeness.”

“We’re not joking — we had to get an intern to stand on the top of it just to get it zipped up and shipped to the App Store.”

In addition to brand new business pages, Yelp 6.0 delivers support for Yelpy Insights, the ability to like and compliment tips, and lots more.

Yelp’s new business pages have been completely remodeled with a focus on “aesthetics and efficiency,” and they introduce a new “pull-to-view” feature that allows you to swipe down to reveal the photo gallery for each business.

There’s also support for Yelpy Insights, which provides detailed information on which demographics each business is suited to. For example, you can find the best places for vegetarians, or which ones are popular with certain age groups.

After reading user tips, you can now state whether they were “useful,” “funny,” or “cool,” and add your own compliments.

The Next Web reports that Yelp has overhauled its web app, too, adding user logins, bookmarks, and the ability to add tips. The company also promises that there’s more to come.

These changes come just before Yelp integration comes to iOS 6, allowing you to access a number of Yelp features, including check-ins, without leaving Apple’s new Maps app.
