After landing on Android and iOS yesterday, Rovio has confirmed that Amazing Alex will be making its way to Mac and PC. The new physics-based puzzler is Rovio’s first break away from the hugely successful Angry Birds series, and it’s already gotten off to a great start, rocketing up to the number one spot in the App Store’s paid charts in several countries.
Since its debut on iOS back in 2009, Angry Birds has slowly been making its way to almost every device that’s capable of running it — including smartphones, tablets, consoles, and even Samsung’s Smart TVs. And it seems Rovio has the same plan for Amazing Alex.
After being asked on Twitter whether the new title would be coming to Windows Phone, a spokesperson manning the official Amazing Alex account replied:
Hi Mark, yes! PC, Mac & Windows Phone versions are to come later, post launch!
Although we don’t have a specific release date — or even a vague one for that matter — it’s good to know Amazing Alex will be coming to larger screens soon. Meanwhile, it’s already doing well on iOS, despite a bug that is causing issues with Game Center integration. In less than 24 hours, Amazing Alex had already claimed the top spot in App Store charts the world over.
