If you’ve though of an awesome idea for an iOS app, but you haven’t got a clue how to write code and you haven’t got the time to learn, then App Idol may be able to help. The competition is giving you the chance to win $1,000 and see your app idea turned into a reality. But you’ll have to be quick; the deadline for applications is July 24.
Here’s how the competition works: First you need to submit your idea to the App Idol competition — run by iPhoneAppCafe. Like American Idol, it will then be judged by a panel of four experts, including the developer behind iCarCheck, and the Editor in Chief of iPhone Life magazine.
If you idea beats the rest, you’ll win $1,000 in prize money from iGame Radio, and more importantly, you’ll get your app developed by Locassa with a share of all revenue. You’ll also receive feedback and mentoring from 4 successful app entrepreneurs, free marketing on iPhoneAppCafe, and you’ll be featured in iPhone Life magazine.
That sounds like a pretty incredible prize if you ask us. You’ve got just 12 days left to enter, though, so you’ll have to get going with that application. The winner will be announced on August 16.
