The Outback Tote Is For When A Regular Laptop Bag Just Won’t Do

Laptop bags are all well and good, but sometimes, they just can’t fit what you need to carry: groceries on the way home from work, a change of clothes for the gym, a picnic lunch on a nice day or a bag of books you picked up on the way home. And while a well-made laptop bag might be very fashionable on a man, on a lady, it might not be nearly as chic.

One of our favorite bag companies, Waterfield Designs, has just outed a new bag that address both issues: the Outback Tote. And it’s a beauty.

The Outback Tote comes in two sizes — a daily bag, and a larger weekender bag — and is made of durable waxed canvas accented with vegetable-tanned leather in two different shades. Like Waterfield’s other bags, it is beautifully lined on the inside with a gold-rip nylon interior, and comes with three internal pockets: one large enough to fit an 11-inch MacBook Air or iPad, the other two for assorted janglies. It zips at the top to provide weather protection, and it’s big enough to fit an entire load of groceries to boot.

We’ve been sent a review unit of the Outback Tote, and we love it: it’s a versatile bag for when you’re lugging your iPad or MacBook around but know you’ll be carrying more by the end of the day. And it’s very comfortable to sling over your shoulder. We’ll have a review up soon.

The Outback Tote costs $149 for the smaller Daily model, and $159 for the larger Weekender.
