WWDC may have sold out quickly, but as we reported there are alternative events for IT professionals  and developers that want to network and hone their skills. One of those is the annual European Macintosh System Administrators Meeting, which began accepting registrations this week for this year’s event, which will be held in Sweden this September.

Unlike WWDC, MacSysAdmin isn’t intended for developers as much as it is IT professionals that need to deploy and manage Apple technologies in business and education.

The four-day event encompasses virtually the entire process of deploying and managing Apple technologies in large organizations. Sessions cover a wide range of important topics including Mountain Lion Server, iOS management, integration with Windows Server and Active Directory, wireless infrastructure planning, Mac deployment and client management tools and approaches, virtualization, backup strategies and more.

This year’s event runs September 11 – 14 in Göteborg, Sweden. Registration is $1,450 per person and, unlike WWDC, registration is transferrable if you’re unable to attend.

Video content and documentation for the last three events is available online at no charge. The session recordings provide an excellent way to update and enhance skills even if you aren’t able to attend the event.

It’s also worth noting that this one of several Mac/Apple IT professional conferences that have been started over the past few years and which are held throughout the U.S. and worldwide.
