UK wireless carrier O2 has just seemingly confirmed an early September reveal of the iPhone 5.

Several MacRumors readers noted that O2 is informing its employees that it will be carrying out a three-week long campaign to swap out old iPhone 4 signage for new iPhone 5 displays.

Here’s the text of the notice:

“The following is to advise that we are removing the old iPhone unitary between the 22nd August and the 12th September. This is a 3 week programme which will see all iPhone unitary swapped out for new iPhone unitary, and will of course prepare us for the launch of the new smart phone. At the same time we are installing an International Favourites bay to stores that can accommodate the unit, as well as replacing the existing magazine stand with a new freestanding stand.”

That seems to imply to me that they are expecting the iPhone 5 to be announced on September 13th, a Tuesday. If so, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the iPhone 5 on launch a few weeks later in early October, confirming all the rumors that have been floating around to that effect.
