After recently giving developers access to the web apps and syncing capability of iCloud.com, Apple has also turned on the Find my iPhone and Find My Mac features for those with early access to iCloud’s web portal.
Developers can now login to iCloud.com and view the location of their registered iDevices and Macs in a map view.
Both services look identical to the Find My iPhone feature that previously existed on MobileMe. iDevices can be tracked via GPS, and a Mac’s location is pinpointed through transmitted location data from surrounding WiFi networks.
Devices (including a Mac) can be remotely wiped or locked. The owner can also trigger a sound or send a message to any registered device through iCloud.com. When a Mac is remotely locked with Find My Mac, a 4 digit PIN must be entered to re-gain access to the machine.
iCloud will be launched to the public this Fall, with reports pegging the release for a September date.
